At S&D Moving Co., we aim to bring transparency to your experience by being upfront with your pricing and offering options for your move. We give our clients the option of an hourly rate or a fixed pricing. Hourly rates vary are based on the size of the truck, #of men and distance of beginning and end points. This insurance protects the owner(s) of the building. This is a document issued by an insurance company/broker that proves the mover’s insurance coverage. It lists individuals and/or companies so that if the mover were to cause damage to the building or surroundings, or its workers suffer injuries associated with the move, the listed individuals and/or companies would be covered under that mover’s insurance. If your building requires one, please ask for a sample COI and/or a set or requirements that the building wants listed on the document. Once you receive it, please forward that to us via email to have one made for you.

Companies who offer free boxes often regain their profit by charging you for something else like having an higher hourly rate or a travel time. We only charge you for what you need. Nevertheless, ask our sales representative about any available deals on boxes and packing material.
No, you will not be responsible for paying the ticket. We will park in a legitimate parking spot or double park legally where applicable. The move may take longer the farther away we are parked.
Standard 30 cents per pound / per article for local or 60 cents per pound per article for interstate is included with each move automatically. For additional coverage and pricing you may refer to www.movinginsurance.com where we are an affiliate.
We usually collect the balance upon completion of the move once all your items are moved. We take credit/debit cards, Paypal or Chase QuickPay. Let us know which option you prefer.
No, unfortunately it must be empty to allow for a fast, efficient and safe move for your items.
Metal bar that runs across the box is 24″ long. It is 13.4 cu ft of volume. 2 wardrobe boxes can hold about 1 closet space worth of items.
That’s not a problem. Please let your moving representative know so they can adjust accordingly. For hourly-rated moves, it may add more time to your move.
S&D Moving offers blankets, tape and plastic wrapping during your move to secure your furniture. We have supplies at great pricing for purchase on your move date. We also offer a free delivery service before your move day for pre-orders on supplies. We can also pack your belongings. Please reach out to your moving representative for details on a free estimate.
There is no charge for gas or mileage on local moves. Cost of metered parking and tolls will be added to the bill.
Tips are optional but greatly appreciated. Moving is similar to the service industry. It ranges from 15-25%.
We do not take cash. Feel free to tip the movers assisting you that day in cash if you feel so inclined. We accept all major debit and credit cards.
Yes. We do require a deposit to hold a timeslot for you. Some companies that don’t take a deposit can easily cancel on you leaving stranded because there is nothing to hold them to it. We take many different forms of payment for your convenience. We take credit/debit cards, Paypal or Chase QuickPay. Let us know which option you prefer.
